Weather Docklet Now Working For Australia

Weather Docklet working for all Australian Capital Cities

Saturday, October 6, 2007 by Pickleswho | Discussion: ObjectDock

After checking with AccuWeather.com -World Weather today to see if I could get my local weather forecast for Brisbane, Australia (and I could), I added ObjectDock's Weather Docklet back onto a tabbed dock and configured my location to Brisbane, Australia and 'Hey Presto', it's now working.
I tried all other Australian Capital cities and they also work.
When I first tried to use this Weather Docklet some weeks ago, it didn't work, but it's sure working now. So, If you live in Australia, check it out now. If you live in another country and the Weather Docklet wasn't working before, it might be a good idea to go to AccuWeather.com to see if you can get your local weather there first. If you can, then you'll probably be able to use the Weather Docklet now too.
Just go to AccuWeather.com (International or World)-FIND YOUR LOCAL FORECAST-SELECT A REGION-SELECT A COUNTRY and if you can retrieve your local weather, you should be able to use the Weather Docklet too.
If you use the fly out on click, you'll see a 5 day local forecast fly out and tile with that information. And it sure looks good. How's that for Good News!

Nope, doesn't work for me... (v1.90 - build 536)

Brisbane, Australia - no feed

Gold Coast, Australia - works fine but days are all out, at the moment it's Tuesday but it is showing Sunday's weather for today.

I just tried connecting from the East coast of Canada. Using OD+ 1.90i(.20

Copying & pasting Brisbane, Australia opened a window giving me 3 options written exactly as shown below.

Brisbane, Australia (Queensland)

Brisbane Archerfield, Australia (Queensland)

Brisbane International, Australia (Queensland)

Each area gave me a temp of 70F in less than a minute, The flyout shows Today, Tomorrow Thursday, Friday, Saturday So for my timezone it is working correctly.

Gold Coast, Australia works here as well and the flyout is the same as above so correct for my timezone.

Yes, if you visit the accuweather site, those work. But, even if you put in any of the following into the weather docklet, you get an error: Please enter a valid location.

Brisbane, Australia (Queensland)
Brisbane Archerfield, Australia (Queensland)
Brisbane International, Australia (Queensland)

Still, if I use "Gold Coast, Australia" it works but it's out by about two days, even on the Accuweather site.

I even uninstalled and downloaded, reinstalled it (seems to be the same version) and it still does not work. I've even tried it on several PC's on different networks, and I can't replicate the functionality others are getting.

Unless people have a different version, I can't see why it's not working for me.

I think I'll just remove the docklet and move on....
