help?

Hi to all,& thanx to lantec cos his post give me the nudge i needed to write this.My name is tony.....tonzer to my pals and i'm a 53y/old scotsman.I only started 'putering 18 months ago and am learning all the time.Really luv this desktop thing!Never seen so much beautifull designs & motions and stuff.You peeps that do this stuff are amazing!!!!!Anyway,its taken me all this time(like 8 weeks)to even find this page!How can i create something like this?Been to s/studio and gimp and stuff,but cant seem to get started right.Is there a book or guide on 'skinning' i could buy?Better still is there a step by step anywhere?Hope this is the right thing im doing,so i'll keep looking back here and see if any happenings  thankx Tonzer.

It sure would be nice if there were a Skinning for Dummies book out there.

Hope you have a good sense of humor, it helps when things don't work right. Just remember that you can always come to the forums for help, even if you've fallen down and can't get up!

I love it (but am somewhat nervous) when people older than I say things like "peeps".

Welcome to the community, tonzer    My suggestion is to try picking apart some of the skins others have created to see how they work and better understand the flow of things.

Of course if you run into any snags and have any questions, feel free to post

Hey u 'guys'(no more peeps from this oldie Zubaz!) Thanx for the welcome,its nice to see you youngies help the aged!Special deep curtsies to Hankers for the link,cos being a bit thick(its all the porridge and haggis,clogs the grey stuff)i need a pic guide to get thro this.
No worries Philly0381 i got the best humour in the world,have to look at this face every day.Never fails to crease me up,specially wen i go out and old ladies and kidz run away crying.
Milksama........oh were goin to be pals.Pick apart a skin? Taken me 2 months to get here on 'question time'!I got an awfull lot of learning to do.Left school 39 years ago and find it hard to even hold an abacus now!And god knows where i left me chalkboard.
Again thanx guys,im off to tutorialise and create a masterpiece!!!
