Msstyles and Theme.ini

Sunday, September 30, 2007 by ALMonty | Discussion: SkinStudio Help

Why is it when I import a .msstyle file into SK Pro I get an error that says "Can't Find Theme.ini"? I searched the forums I couldn't find anything to answer this.

Not sure...I just usually click on the .msstyle file and it works fine.

The theme.ini should have nothing to do with converting a VS, when you convert, make sure all you have in the folder is the .msstyle and shellstyle.dll. Theme.ini's are for use with Visual Styles, not Wb's so if there is one included with the VS, delete it.

You may want to check and verify whether the msstyle is intended for use with Vista.

I had noticed a while ago that the current version of Skinstudio always generated an error of the type you mention when I tried to convert a Vista msstyle.

I was informed that the current Skinstudio cannot convert those files. The next version of Skinstudio is supposed to allow for it.

That's what the problem is. I tried an older VS I had archived and it worked fine. Thanks.

Just to clarify the error said: "Resource THEME_INI not found"
