I know it's gotta be out there somewhere

I've looked all over the place. Are there no tutorials for Sysmetrix? It's the .ini file that I need help with. Anyone know of a detailed tutorial explaining what all that stuff is for? And where to put what?

Thanks, Hankers.

I did read that over a bit before I looked at a .ini file. There seems to be a lot of repetitive stuff in there. Does it matter WHERE you put things in the file? I've noticed there are lots of blank things in there, does this mean that the .ini file is like a form to fill out? I can copy a .ini file and put in my own parameters? SHOULD I do it that way?

As you can see, I've never played with anything like this before.

best way to learn is to make a back up... open it up... play some... play some more.. trial and error...screw something up... restore back up.. start again.

just use an existing .ini file from a skin that you have and change the details to match your own skin. That's what I did when I first skinned Sysmetrix. (But that was a long time ago!)

Have you tried skinning Xion (the music player)? So easy and lots of fun.

Yeah, I put my first Xion skin in the contest! I'm waiting for the results.....there's some really good competition there too. I had fun making it and plan to make more.

I managed to make the Sysmetrix I wanted...by trial and error (It matches the Xion in the contest). What I didnt realize when I first started making the Sysmetrix was that the program will make the .ini file for you. I thought I had to write it myself! Now I got it down and need to play with it for a while.

After the Xion contest is over, I plan on submitting my Xion skin here, along with the Sysmetrix, Objectdock background and maybe a Rainlender skin (another thing I want to learn).

Everybody on this site is so helpful. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions in the future. Thanks to everyone who has helped me along!
