Folder View Settings

Monday, September 24, 2007 by Phoon | Discussion: Windows Vista

I hate icon and tiles view in my windows folders. I find it cumbersome and hard to navigate.
I prefer my view to be in detail mode.
In "Computer", I set it to detail view, go to tools, folder options and the view tab. The "Apply to Folders" button is greyed out and thus, My Computer always reverts back to tile view.
Has this ability been taken away in Vista?
btw... UAC is OFF!

I've researched this as well and found that registry edits are the only way so far. Here's a custom script you may want to check out. I'm linking to the post with the script and to a post of a brief description of the script.
