DX Systray icon missing right click shortcuts

Thursday, August 23, 2007 by Snap Hook | Discussion: DesktopX

I just installed the latest DX beta and now the systray icon only has two options, configure and unload.  What happened to the others, particularly the switch to builder option?

I've downloaded and installed the latest DX Beta and have it set to start in Builder Mode and I'm not seeing any problem with systray right click options. Click on the configure option select the preferences tab and then check the Make DX Builder the default program for loading .dxpacks and .desktops. Click Apply and OK. That should get you back in business.

Edit: Spoke too soon that only works from builder mode. You are right I cannot find anyway to switch from client mode to builder mode. I'll work on it if nogo its time to rollback. Thanks for the headsup on this one.

DX Builder has all the shortcuts but if I switch to DX Client all but two go away and I have to unload and restart in builder mode if I want to add an object. Also under the client configure there is no option for starting in builder mode.

I don't want to be in builder mode by default.

You're right Snap Hook. Once in client mode there is no easy way to switch to builder mode. There used to be a "switch to bulder mode" option from the right click menu on the DX client systray icon. This is a bug that needs fixing. I'm not going to rollback since all I had to do was quit DX, clear the cache then restart DX which brings up the DX Welcome Panel. From there select Create and I was back in builder mode. A lengthy process, but workable until a fix is completed.
