Announcing the WinCustomize/Maxthon 2.0 Skinning Competition!
Personalize your browsing experience, win cool stuff
Monday, August 20, 2007 by Zoomba | Discussion: WinCustomize News
WinCustomize, in partnership with Maxthon International Limited is pleased to announce the Maxthon 2 Skin Competition! Starting this week, skinners from all over the globe will be able to design, build and submit their own custom Maxthon 2.0 browser skins to WinCustomize.com to compete for prizes and bragging rights in the skinning community.
Maxthon is one of the most customizable web browsers out there and has taken the Chinese market by storm with over 10 million users world-wide, and just this month released the final 2.0 version of the software to users. With the release of 2.0 and it's vast number of improvements, now is the perfect time to check out the software and get to skinning it!
Most browsers either aren't skinnable, or have limited customization capabilities, making Maxthon an ideal browser alternative to those wanting to customize every aspect of their Windows experience!
Entries will be judged by WinCustomize and Maxthon staff and select community members. We're really looking forward to see what great designs the skinning community will come out with!

Do you think that moderators are not doing their job perfectly?
Or you didnt like my skin? If not, then no problem.
I'm also moderator/admin in a few other forums, "Island Dog" knows it very well. I know how difficult the task of moderators is? They got lots of things to do.
I don't know why you are so much worried about my skin? If you didnt like it, then leave it. I can't satisfy all with my skin.
Anyway I don't want to discuss such issue any more. I'll leave it to mods. I request them to fully investigate about it and if they find it a rip, then please remove it. I'll have no problem.

I uploaded a Maxthon skin yesterday and have found a couple of errors! How can I get that one removed(has yet to be approved) and re-upload a corrected version. Skin name BLU_Circles_32.
Thanks

Paddymx,
I'm not seeing any files from you. Try putting your skin file in a zip archive and uploading that.

Thanks! I think I was having a problem with 7zip and preview formats. I will try again in a few minutes. I will re-reply when I send!

I just tried again with a 7zip and a m2s using IE and Maxthon! All attempts failed?
I am using the m2s in Maxthon with no problems?? It is still comming back with must include skin file error. Question. When it is asking for the skin name, does it require the full name (Blu_Circles_32.m2s/zip?? I have just been inputting Blu_Circles_32 and using the "Browse" feature to populate both preview(jpg) and ZIP!
Could my account be the problem??
Sorry for all the problems
Patrick

You need to provide:
Skin Name - Whatever title you came up with... such as "My Ultimate Skin of Awesomeness" (No ZubaZ, that can NOT be one of your submissions for the next GUI Champs)
Preview Image - A JPG image showing off your skin in action.
Skin File - The .m2s or .zip file.
Description: Your own words describing the skin.
---
Make sure you're not mixing up the Preview Image and Skin File fields.

Can't figure this one out
Progress window shows uploads but the "preview JPG" has leading numbers attached.
Just tried it again with a m2s BUT this time I renamed my/your "Preview" preview.jpg(b4 IT WAS "UPLOAD.JPG". Looks like that might be a requirement. LOOKS LIKE IT TOOK THIS TIME.
Could you please confirm?

I hate you all . .
Flaming Aero of Death was brilliant! And with a title like that it should have done better.
My 2008 GUI submissions will ROCK THIS PLACE!!!
(Now to find one of those awesome Chinese skinners to sub-contract work out)
