Evolution of a Masterskin...Slider XP

In the beginning...

Tuesday, August 7, 2007 by I.R. Brainiac | Discussion: Skinning

Never at a loss for skinning ideas,I was however having trouble deciding what to start after Knot Vista.
vStyler was bugging me every damn day..."so...what you gonna do next?"

"Dammit John,I aint even finished Knot Vista yet" I says.

"maybe a theme based on the SR71 Blackbird,...or something that looks like vintage guitar equipment"

Instead I went with a chinese abacus...go figure.

Ok ...for starters ... the taskbar:

Ferinstance, could those open folder indicators 'slide' along the brass tubes ..and 'disappear/slide' into an unseen area, as they were closed ...and 'slide' back into view if they [or a new window/app] were opened again?

and .. the 'executables' [all programs menu]:

Would it be feasible/possible to add 'slide' sideways horizontal brass tubing, so that it also appears to slide out from the main startmenu?

This, of course is quite possibly just gobbledygook to you ...and can quite safely be disregarded as nonsense.

Just keeping within the whole 'slide' thingy you've got going on there....

Dirty it up a bit and it could be themed to the Bioshock game that is coming out.

It's nothing I'd ever use but it's definately a very cool idea and pushing the envelope hard. Also, keep in mind I'm a boring old fart...so don't listen to me....

If you can keep the slightly translucent buttons for inactive and the solids for active/mouseover that would be cool.

I could do them better (but first I'd have to find you and refit the basement to hold you and . . . and . .
