Is Ubuntu Linux for You, Too?

Those Ubuntu-powered Dell machines are almost here.
Found another article on Linux and its installation on PC's.
I have only one computer with a 80GB HD. I'm not sure if that is enough to partition the HD and have a dual boot system. I'm also not sure what I would be gaining other than to try a different OS. I do admit though I enjoy reading about Linux, thier developers and how they are trying to become a player to win over people from MS as an OS option.

Why do you put yourself through that when VMWare workstation will offer so much more?

It's going to be a supporting developement machine. The XP install will have IE 5-6 for webdevelopement and other XP related testing.

I am just waiting for delivery for my new Dell ..XPS 710 H2C Intel® Core™2 Extreme QX6700 (8MB,3.2GHz Factory overclocked)....installed with XP Pro bc no drivers available for Dual 768MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX cards... 
but included a second harddrive in order to dual boot for now with Ubuntu. Simply want to learn Linux....when next OS comes out I intend to move Ubuntu to this machine if I like it. And dual boot with XP & new OS on the newest machine.
Since I am new to dual booting & Ubuntu ect. I would love to get some feedback and or info on programs to do this efficiently.

..I can start a new one, don't mind. But thought it sort of belonged here.

MySecret, what hijacking! I was always under the impression that once a thread is posted you can't really control where it goes. Your reply seems to fit in well, go back and read my last paragraph.
Your reply maybe the push this thread needs to get up the hill so it can sail down the back side.

And the Ubuntu install will be my Linux playground. It's be just experimental. I'll be looking into Linux gadget engines and such.
I split it the 120GB HD into four primary partition of 30GB each for I can have a total of four OS's. It'd be nice to have OSX on it as well, but it's an Pentium 4, so, no go.
