Icon Packager problem

Monday, May 21, 2007 by bobbyhundreds | Discussion: Customization Software

I'm not sure what's happened to my set up here but I am no longer able to install icon packages by directly using IP.
I have tried installing by clicking on the download link on WC.com and then letting IP try to install the downloaded package,I have also tried right clicking and save target method and then install from disk in IP.
In both cases the IP package is downloaded to my pc but in each case it is not installed( icon packager opens but the package isn't there).
The only way I can install packages at the moment is to do it using SDC but I preferred the ease of downloading direct using WC.com.
Any ideas? I'm stumped on this one.
By the way,it's happening with all packages.
Thanks
(It's all so overwhelming LOL only kidding.  )

Have you tried starting IP then clicking on settings and selecting Rebuild Icon Cache and Repair Icon Images? Then try and install new Icon packages and see if that resolves your issue.

Thanks for the reply Hankers.
Yep Hankers,I tried that but still no good. It's like IP doesn't recognize the packages.I've also tried un-installing/re-installing IP but still no good.

Probably best to email [email protected] explaining your issue with IP.  I'm sure they will be able to assist you in resolving this problem.

OK thanks,I've just mailed them.
However,my confidence with Stardock support is low as I also purchased IconX a while ago aswell and it has never worked properly,it destroys desktop right click menu and conflicts with DesktopX (when DX is running,IconX will not auto start at system startup).I mailed them about that too ,I got a reply saying it had been "escalated" but have heard nothing since even though I contacted them again asking what was happening.
