xDaYSx, why did you start a new thread 1/2 hour after replying on thread where it was stated you need OD Plus for system tray. On other thread I did post back with what section of OD config setting is in.
If/when you purchase OD Plus and still need help ask again then.

I have the free version of OD, and bleh I realized you cant put the tray on it, but either way im overhwelmed with all its folders, I dont know which folder does what, and how to download themes or anything.

Is a background a theme?
Also, ahhhh, the Objectdock section of this website where you download things. HOW IN THE WORLD do you know if its an icon or a theme or a background? its so confusing.

No, a background is not a theme. When you download one of WebGizmos creations (for example) it goes in the BACKGROUNDS FOLDER. You have tabbed docks (only in paid for version), tiles, zoomers, side docks. PUT THESE INTO THE BACKGROUNDS FOLDER. These are the backgrounds that the icons go in. There are all sorts of backgrounds that go with different Windowblinds.
The icons are just that - icons. Click on an icon that is linked to a program or folder or web link. You put the icon into the background of the dock.
Docklets are things like weather or calendar. PUT THESE INTO THE DOCKLETS FOLDER.
You make the theme. Once you have your dock set up the way you want it you save it. Save it with a name you give it. Save it into the THEMES FOLDER. XDaYSx dock for example. This will be in the THEMES FOLDER. You can make all sorts of themes and that way you'll have different docks for different desktops.
Go back to reply #1. Go to that link. Read up on the part concerning docks. All of a sudden it will all be very clear and easy.

I use the free version and yep - you can't put a tray on it, but you can use a system tray docklet... I use this one. Click the link in the description and you'll go to Nimix' other site page for instructions and info on it, and check to see if there's any newer version.
There aren't that many themes out there really. Generally what you find in the ODock gallery is backgrounds, images for shortcuts, docklets

whew lol, im a really slow learner you guys, and I guess OD isnt intended for everyone, id rather not mess with it.

Or maybe it's intended for people who actually are willing to take the time to learn how to use it instead of just giving up when no one else can hold their hand and do it for them.

I couldn't agree more Bebi. The sad thing is that it really isn't all that difficult to use. As I tried to spell out in reply #7. I told her where each "element" went. The actual interface for the software is very easy to use. If she put some effort into it I'm sure she'd have a nice dock on her desktop in no time. It's her loss and as xDaYSx would say "lol".

No, im just a slow learner, and after reading all of what you guys have said, and even going through the tutorial I still dont understand Objectdock, so shoot me. I cant read things and take stuff out of them and built on that, I need like......if I wanted to install an Icon...and apply it........ 1) click blah blah 2) open blah blah.....I work in STEPS, I need very to-the-point, easy steps. and its hard to find people, or tutorials that do it the way I understand best.

OK we will give it one more shot.
#1. Start OD
#2. Go to My computer - Drive C - Program Files, find a program you want to launch in OD. Drag the icon for that program into the dock. If you want a better looking icon for that program look in the OD or misc. icon section at WC. You can also find a lot of icons at DA. Make an icon folder in My Documents to store the icons you download. If you want use the new icon in the dock for a specific program - right click the icon for the program in the dock and navigate to your icon folder in My Documents and change it to the new/downloaded icon.
#3. Go to My computer - Drag My Documents folder into the dock. Now all your Documents can be got at from the dock. Open up My Documents and drag My Music, My Pictures, whatever folder you have in there into the dock. Whatever folder you want. You can change the icon the same way you changed the programs icons.
#4. Right click on the dock. There is a part that says Add. If you want the weather or a calendar or a clock or a recycle bin just pick one! It will be in your dock!
It really is easy! You will have a basic dock.
Don't give up so easy. Once you grasp the basics you won't be able to go without OD. I promise.

Thanks you 2, that works alot better, I understand most of it! If I can get the hang of this I might just purchase it, but then id need to know how to put the system tray on it.

Well, you could search it yourself....there is a search feature. Or try Corky O's page and find it.
Frankly, I'm kind of amazed you can turn on the computer, find WC, and post in the forums if things are that hard..
