Uxtheme???

Monday, May 14, 2007 by Jeffrey W | Discussion: WindowBlinds

I downloaded the trial version of Windowblinds a few days ago, although I thought the software is awesome, I decided not to buy the software because I just want 1 specific theme that I like. Luckily, that theme could be applied to the window using Uxtheme, but I am not sure about that software. Can somebody tell me ALL the bad effects that Uxtheme could bring to my CP? Someone said that your computer won't be able to restore with Uxtheme, is that true? I have already downloaded uxtheme patcher 5.0 and it said that it could restore the system file whenever I want, should I believe that? Please explain everything in detail. Thank you very much!!!!

You might want to try the general customization channel.

the patcher is not Stardock, Object Desktop or Windowblinds.

Stardock doesn't patch any files.  Uxtheme patches are generally safe but can cause problems if you update Windows with something that changes that file resulting in an unbootable system.  They also violate Microsoft's EULA.

If there's a particular theme (.msstyle file) for uxtheme, you can install SkinStudio and convert it to WindowBlinds.
