Questions with Skins and Vista.

Saturday, May 12, 2007 by Dovreen | Discussion: Windows Vista

I am using Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

When I try to instal a Skin, I have to unload WindowBlinds  and then install the skin to get it to work.

Does the UAC have anything to do with the transforming of 1 skin to another when installing the skins?

What version of WindowBlinds?  It would be helpful if you posted your WB configuration info.

Ok, here is my information.
WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 5 (5.50 (build 102 x86 - Vista Edition))

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

(Generic PnP Monitor) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT

Wblind.dll 2007/03/20 13:26:20
Wbsrv.dll 2007/02/23 18:19:05
Wbconfig.exe 2007/03/13 10:16:17
Wbload.exe 2006/03/13 18:54:14
Wbhelp.dll 2004/09/18 17:37:07
Tray.dll 2006/04/28 19:26:49
Wbload.dll 2005/01/22 18:05:07

I just find it annoying that when I download the skins, and try to automatically install the skin, it will not load properly. The only way to get the task bar and other windows to completely show the new skin, it first Unload Window Blinds to get the Classic Windows Theme and then find the skin I just downloaded and then Apply it and it works.

Any thoughts?

When a skin is installed, or you select a skin from WB, only part of it applies. To correct this you have to revert to classic, then re-apply the skin, is that correct?

If it is, I get exactly the same...

Yes Fuzzy, however, I just downloaded the Twisted skin and it worked fine.
Again, any thoughts?
