A question requiring an answer PLEASE

Ok now to all the Moderators and or support staff, i have a question. How come everytime i upload a wallpaper to the gallery and i DO NOT tick the "show on my page only" but whenever i go looking for it that option has been ticked after upload? I, as i am sure most everybody else is putting their work here to be shared with others, not to have that box ticked when they (or me in my case) did NOT tick it. Can someone please explain why this 'phenomenon' occurs?

You could alway start now with the "how did all that other garbage" get in the main gallery and mine didn't?
That's always good for a hundred or so replies and arguments and flames at each other.

Thats not actually what i meant, i did actually mean what i asked, why does that get ticked after upload in wallpapers? It doesnt in logons...
And why cant i get an image/icon to upload in my personal bits? everytime i try to get one up there ( no matter what one i use) it tells me that the file is corrupted and to try again later... Now thats just not fair, i want an icon...

Hi Mrs Velvetelle. The reason for your wallpaper problem is they have moderation here and any wallpapers or other uploads that are deemed to not meet high enough standards are placed on the author's personal page. As you can imagine this topic has been discussed and it is the solution that Wincustomize has chosen after talking to many members of the community. If it helps any lot's of people experience the same thing in having their submissions marked for personal page only. As far as uploading an image/icon or avatar as they're called, first, make sure you are submitting one that meets the requirements. I think they have to be a png file that is 50x50 in size. If you are trying anything other than what is required, you'll get an error message so, please check on those requirements.

Basicly what nearly everyone here said is true. Everything to one degree or another is moderated. Many of the points on this matter brought up in this very convo are also parts of major deliberation. It is not anything getting ticked after you upload it, it is put where a mod, or in case of walls, group of mods decide it should go.

Everyone below Journeyman level when they upload anything it is moderated (judged ) before being posted. So the moderators decide what is shared with everyone ( public gallery ).
If you need everything you make to be seen by all then submit them at deviantart.com, no moderation there, all uploads are posted in public galleries.

To clarify another point. On upload of a skin, it is viewable on your personal page while awaiting moderation. That's a new thing we added in the last month or so. This allows you to show other people your skins. If it "passes" moderation, then it will go up to the main site. If not, then the moderator can say "for personal page only".

This is regarded as a 'softer option' which moderators now adopt to what was once fairly heavily moderated, aka much greater than 50% rejection rate [typically 70 or 80] where the majority were rejected and not available anywhere at all....
