Is there another way to get updates than SDCentral?

I was on dial-up for years and every time I downloaded an update, through Stardock Central, I could only download at 3 kb a second at the most.
Now that I have satillite, I'm 100 times faster now, but the most I have been able to download, through Stardock Central, is 20 kb a second.
The reason I ask is, today I will be picking up my new computer and don't want to spend half the day in downloads.
Is there another link (or place) I can get the downloads without taking forever through Stardock Central?
Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, and don't get me started, that every time there's an update we have to download the whole thing, skins and all.
What's wrong with just downloading the update itself. The update may only be 1 mb, for the WB's, but I have to download an almost 14 mb file. What's worse is DesktopX....doesn't make sense.
Unless there's something in SDCentral that I'm over looking or not checking.

I switched servers and got a whopping 20 kb more, so it helped some.
