Please use this post for reporting Forum Bugs

Friday, April 13, 2007 by andrew_ | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

While we would like to hope that the code we write is solid as a rock and has zero flaws, we know that just isnt the case 100% of the time. While the forums continue to grow and we continue to add features and expand upon existing features, a bug here or there might pop up. Please use this post for reporting problems you are facing, or issues you notice with our new forums.

Rest assured, a Stardock rep will be monitoring this post and helping out as much as possible. With your help, we can make sure that the forums continue to run smoothly and without issue.

Same old one for me. Every so often 'View all recent posts' gets stuck on the first ten posts (example below) with no way to reach the posts between there and the second page. It does this in IE, FF, XP, Vista, home pc, work pc.

I think there was just a bug in this thread where 3 previous posts (before Fuzzys reply) disappeared.

....or maybe I am going crazy?

Sorry andrew, got confused with all those similar post suddenly created/revived...

As to my earlier report:

The recent list in the forum sometimes fails to update single threads. To explain that a bit closer, there are threads that I have read but that still show the "unread" or "new posts" sign in the front. Even if I close the Browser and come back an hour or so later this post still shows as unread.

Other posts (again in the recent posts list) don't seem to update if someone new posted for more than an hour, even though several people posted in it, while the threads above or below update immediately.

These slight glitches seem to happen randomly and usually only last for a couple of hours to a day.

Right now I don't have a link to provide. As I logged in this morning I had a couple of threads like that, together with the "Fuzzy-error" (#1), half an hour later the Fuzzy-error is gone, so are the "stuck"-posts.

aufisch, I've addressed this issue for you in the past. Please make a note this time There is nothing wrong with the 'updating'. It works as intended. It's not instantaneous as you will see on other forums. It's a limitation of our system at present. If it's ever updated, I'll let everyone know.

I've been noticing that when I click on someones name in their thread response then choose to "View xxxxx's Profile" when I reach that page I'm no longer logged into the site. Not a biggy but I thought you might want to know.

No problems here. I would suggest giving the ol' deleting wincustomize and stardock cookies deal a try.
