Annoying - OD doesn't use default app icons!

Wednesday, April 11, 2007 by virtualrain | Discussion: Docks

I installed OD 1.5 Plus on Vista and noticed it only uses the crappy icon/image associations it is preloaded with.  WHY!!!!!!??????

Vista has beautiful icons but I can't use any of them on the dock!  Not only that, but I can't even change the icons of dock items to use the default application or system icons as it only works with image files... WTF?

Is there some trick I'm not aware of?  If not, this is the most terrible shortcoming of this program.  It looks like hell unless you spend tedious time trying to find decent icon images and even then they won't match the Vista system icons.  Terrible!

We're in the process of enchancing this as we speak. v1.6 begins to approach this problem directly

if you check out the objectdock gallery here you will find some truly astounding application icons, probably even better looking than the vista one, just open the galley and type the name of the app u want an icon for into the search to see if someone has made one . i found some truly outstanding ones in there
