ODPLus 1.58a9(b).009 DLL errors after install

Tuesday, April 10, 2007 by Stockholm Syndrome | Discussion: Docks

I tried to update to the latest OD Plus via SDC a couple of days ago and I am now getting these 2 errors after I install:

ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Loading Failed. ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Failed To Load (DLL Not Found) Please reinstall and reboot.

ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Loading Failed. ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Failed To Load (No DLL,Mouse) Please reinstall and reboot.

I'm running XP SP2, on a Macbook Pro with Boot Camp. The previous version of OD Plus I had worked great, just having problems with this update. Anyone got any ideas?

(I have reinstalled and rebooted several times, as well as uninstalled, then reinstalled/rebooted. )

I had that same error with the previous beta but it was fixed with this version.  Try un-installing and rebooting. Then un-check "Show pre-release versions" and install the last release version. Reboot and make sure that one is working.  If all is well then click on "Show pre-release versions" again and install this beta.

Hope this works for you.

Hey thanks a lot! I did that and was still getting the error, but at least this way I was able to re-download the latest release version, which is working great. (I didn't have archiving on and forgot I could uncheck the box to show pre-release versions. Been awhile since I've been around...

I found out (the hard way) that hook.dll is NOT part of ObjectDock - it's part of the SysStats docklet support.

You'll need to re-install SysStats or just copy the hook.dll file from the SysStats archive (latest version here: SysStats) to the ObjectDock install folder like I did.

Alternatively, it may be possible to unregister the dll with the command "regsvr32 -u hook.dll" at a cmd prompt? I didn't try it because it just occurred to me now...

HTH.

Hi folks , grettings from Costa Rica

OK , I received the error ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Loading Failed. ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Failed To Load (DLL Not Found) Please reinstall and reboot.

ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Loading Failed. ObjectDock: Dll/Hook Failed To Load (No DLL,Mouse) Please reinstall and reboot.

Let me tell you that I feel very proud of myself hahaha, I solved the issue about this error , my objetdock is the version 1.30 build 526u, yes I know that this version is not the latest one , but the newer version do not have something that I like from the older one, well let's move forward, you can try it , it may work for you as well.

I followed this steps: unistall the software using the uninstaller directly from the objetdock folder in program files.

2: install this files in your computerm here the link  : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=90&p=&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2f1%2f1%2f1%2f1116b75a-9ec3-481a-a3c8-1777b5381140%2fvcredist_x86.exe

Restart process is not required.

Then go to run

type regedit

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER then Software

In the software key look for the stardock folder , then deleted the folder

Restart the computer now

Reinstall the software and in my case it was like magic, I though that I did have to install every shortcut in the docks, but in my case it was not necessary the icons where there every one of them, now it is making the zoom action , glow , everything like in the past folks.

Hope this works for you.
