My 1st WindowBlinds Skin Day 2

Today I will continue my 1st WindowBlinds skin

Saturday, April 7, 2007 by Life is a Game | Discussion: OS Customization

Today I will continue with creating my frist ever WindowBlinds skin. You can have a look here WWW Link what I did yesterday. I set myself today a goal to finish the toolbar icons and controls.

I have to admit that yesterday after working all day on this skin I slowly started loosing motivation to finish it and that's exactly why I posted an article yesterday to get some support from you guys. So big thanks to everybody for your comments. I got back my spirit and motivation after reading your comments today in the morning.

So I will continue in a moment I just need to get something to drink.

Stupid question: were the previews you gave mock-ups or what's actually done and applied so far?

It's what I've actually put together in SkinStudio and applied as a Skin.

Looking Good! Have you considered what fonts you'd like to use yet?

It's 13:46 now and I have just finished all the controls and posting now screenshots from SkinStudio. As you can see there are still some details missing but I think it doesn't look that bad for my first skin in a days and a half work.

Looking Good Again

I suggest the following fonts, you would have to include it in the ZIP file that you publish so the user can install it manually:

> Segoe UI (Windows Vista User Interface Font)
> Zurich BT
> Humnst777

If you need any of these fonts then search them on Google. If you can't find them email me on  [removed by admin] and I'll send them to you.

P.S. I Like the fact that you use orange instead of Blue. Looks good!

Thanks for the tip. I will use Segoe UI but first I want to finish all the graphics and set the fonts.

It's 21:43 and I will finish for today. I'm quite happy with today's progress. I completed the controls, toolbar icons and shut down/log off sections. So for tomorrow I have left the animations and special folders sections.

Good on you for undertaking this. I can only imagine how overwhelming it may be at the thought of discovering you have designer's block. You certainly have my respect!
