Bootskin Incompatability

ok so ive been using Bootskin for some time now. This has been a reoccurring problem. I can not get Bootskin to work! It dosen't matter what skin i try, it always reverts back to the default Windows XP bootskin. It has always happened on my old MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, but never happened on my DFI board (RIP). Anybody know of any MOBO compatibility issues and any sort of fixes that i might be able to do.
