How can I get the widget back on the screen?

Sunday, March 25, 2007 by sophiesboy | Discussion: Widget talk

I was running through my library of widgets (I assume they are widgets. The files all end in ".exe". Maybe they're gadgets?)

In any case, when I clicked on a file to activate it, nothing shows up on my screen. If I go to task manager, it says that the program is running, it just doesn't show on the screen.

If it's relevant, I recently changed monitors, and went from a 1280x1024 resolution to 1680x1050. Is it possible that has pushed the widget off the screen somehow?

The basic question is how to drag something back onto the screen if you can't see any part of it?

Also, I tried using the DesktopX Builder to see if any data re the widget would show up and allow me to edit the position, but nothing showed there either.

Is my only recourse to delete the widget files and download new versions?
If I do that, is there a cache or memory file somewhere that I should delete to wipe out any previous data?

If You have DesktopX, there is a WidgetManager.exe in the DesktopX folder, You can use it to clear the widget cache.
