If you have the Bootskin program installed, you should be able to doubleclick on the .bootskin file and it will load it up. Alternatively, you could open Bootskin, then use File > Import From File and then select your .bootskin.

Yes....bootskin uses .bootskin files, this we know.

I have downloaded the boot skin program but it isn't showing the new skins and when I click the skins it opens the box but isn't listing any of the skins as a possible choice.I went into the program files and tried adding them to the acual skin file and still no good. How do I get the boot skins to work? I just got a new comp and the old comp never had this problem.

Did you load them properly? (see reply #1)

I suggest that you download TuneUp Utilities. It's a great package for maintaining your PC, and you can make your own bootskins. There may be better creator programmes out there but TuneUp manages them very nicely. Give it a try.

you can put the bootskins you download anywhere you like, then to load then, open bootskin and click file...import from file. that way u can keep all your bootskins in the one place, i jave a seperate drive for all my stardock stuff, so i am never hunting for them

TuneUp Utilities loads your bootskin from file, and re-saves it in a temp directory for as long as you keep it in record (the list on the screen). If you remove it and want to reload it you'd have to repeat the procedure.
