No notification area?

I've just tried using desktopx with vist aero blue and a few other themes, and they all have one problem, there isn't a notification area. I'm not too sure about its exact name, but in this pic WWW Link
two icons from start is what I think is the area I'm talking about. Anyways, for me, it is just a blank bar with nothing, not even sound settings, can someone help me?
