Safari Coming to Windows?

Mary Jo Foley wrote in her blog a rumor that Apple plans to port Safari over to Windows. Now she is basing her statement on an entry on a Mozilla Wiki, and Apple will not comment on rumors, but I think this is a possibility.
I use Safari on my Macs, and I wouldn't mind seeing another browser enter the Windows scene after my disappointments with Firefox and IE7.
What are your thoughts?

What disappointments with Firefox? I haven't encountered any and find the add-ons make it as customizable as I want it to be.

Firefox crashes way more than it should for me, and it uses an incredible amount of memory. From my point of view Firefox has gotten worse with each release, but that's just my opinion.

I've used Safari a lot cause I use Macs at work. It's a fine browser but what I've got to say is more about the internet and how it is PC oriented. I find that my internet surfing is much better on my PC because most web sites are geared toward PC users. I can do more, listen to more and see more using the PC. Now having said that since I'm using a work Mac I might not be able to "customize" it to the point where the browsing experience is equal to that of the PC.
We use Firefox 98% of the time on the home PC with no problems at all. IE7 is used for the tiny amount of sites that require it. I've got Opera loaded up but I don't use it, mainly it's there as an alternative "just in case something goes wrong".
I'd be interested in a PC version of Safari.

I'd try Safari, but my usage is about the same as Chasbo's.
A new browser would have to be more that "as good as" another to make me switch. A good bit better.
How does WC, SD, galciv2 render in safari?

Hey buyNEM: Are you familiar with Apple products? In my experience and by most accounts the Apple line of computing products is top of the line! I've been a Windows user since 3.11 and except for win98 (I had bad luck with it), I love it. Having said that if it wasn't for customization products (I've used Aston Shell, Lite Step and my favorite product line Stardock = WB, DX, IP, CXP, OD yadda yadda) I would have insisted on having a Mac. If you've ever used a Mac extensively you'd know what a great platform Apple has created. It is superior to the Windows platform and I think this statement is true and honest. Cost is also a consideration because generally speaking Apple products do cost more. The Mac Mini has changed that somewhat plus with Boot Camp WWW Link you can run Windows on it too. How cool is that?

Hmmmm...I've never had a crash using firefox. Are you sure its not something within your system causing it to crash? You know how software can be.

Thoughts? It might make MS more receptive to their base. But I doubt it.

I have been using FF for a while now. After reading many comments here on this site about how much better FF was compared to IE I was convinced to try it and I am very happy with it. Especially with all its add ons. I can not live without FF now.

Safari is an okay browser, but it's not compatible with Stardock forums. The text-entry boxes don't appear. I'd imagine it's a bug not worth fixing considering the limited number of Mac users who post here.
So you'd still need to use something else if you want to use Stardock stuff.

The first thing I do with a Mac is install Firefox. I can't remember a crash since 1.5.01 and that was caused by an incompatible extension. I haven't seen the memory usage problem since pre-1.5
With IE, FF and Opera all having their "dug-in" users, I don't see what kind of market share they expect to gain by releasing Safari to Windows.
