Saving Settings?

Sunday, December 24, 2006 by Threi | Discussion: ObjectBar

I am using the Shareware version of objectbar 2.0, and i am noticing that my settings for the bar (specifically only the settings related to dxplayer, everything else saves) are being lost whenver i close it or restart the computer, even though i save the settings....it is annoying and i want to know if there is a way to avoid this?

I've found widgets to be a bit tempermental when it comes to including them in a bar. I haven't tried it but.......what if you open the dxplayer stand-alone and configure it to be in the location it would have on your bar....then place it in the bar. Just guessing

well you see the thing is i dont have desktopX installed...only objectbar...the plugin was there when i initially installed desktopX, so i created it through the bar (theme editor > new item > plugin > dxplayer....)

here i will try to explain the situation more detailed:

when i configure the dxplayer plugin on my bar it works fine, and looks like this:

however, whenever i close it or restart the computer, it shows up like this, and none of the buttons work.

There's an element called "Extra Space" which may work better between your Games shortcut and the DXplayer. It looks like it's "recovering" the playlist space between sessions.

nope i tried that and nothing...

what seems to happen is that when i restart objectbar the settings for dxplayer are completely lost (even though the program seems to remember its a dxplayer plugin)

I have a work around that involves winamp and the skin called WinVista_WMP11 that's available over at DA. There's an earlier version in the gallery here as well. I use it with it set to always on top and it fits nice over the bar.
