Window Docking Software

Tuesday, December 12, 2006 by godfoder | Discussion: Windows Software

I'm look for a program that will allow me to dock any program I want onto a part of the screen.

I know of a number of programs that can do this (AIM, gAIM). Has anyone heard of a program that can make any window do this? One of the programs I have to use for work has a small bar mode, and I want to put it at the top of the screen and have it reserve that area, so that when programs like fire fox open full screen, they don't overlap it.

Any ideas?

Object Dock and DesktopX and WindowFX have the option of reserving workspace.

DesktopX is the most powerful of the three.

I have been thinking about this question all day.

If the space is reserved but any of the apps you listed, won't that prevent the wanted app from running there too.

What I thought the poster was asking is "Can I set all apps to maximize to 50 pixels from the top but let this one app run in that space?"

And I was no help there anyway.
