Maximum size for Hyperpaint?

I've got Windowblinds 5.5 beta running on XP and have noticed that if I keep my windows small they move and resize quickly with no visible repainting behind. If I size them up too large then I get nasty repainting underneath.
I have Hyperpaint on, optimised for Cleartype and running at maximum window size (large windows)
My question is, what is the "large windows" maximum and is this what is causing this issue?
