G Mail Checker Stopped Checking

Thursday, December 7, 2006 by JohnnyPants | Discussion: DesktopX

Im haveing a little problem, my G Mail checker does not allow any new G mail msg to show up in the window, it always shows 0 even though there are new G mails.  When I click on the red envelope in the upper left corner it just blocks me out, does not refresh like it used to. I know my subscription has expired recently and not sure if this has to do anything with the problem. Any help would be appriciated. Thanx

it should work unless the sub your talking about is related to your gmail

I just ran the Aero gmail checker = 0
- sent my self a mail, clicked the env = 1
- sent another, cliced the env = 2

might want to check your login/pword

Im able to access Gmail from the widget which takes me to the logon page, password a e addy are correct. My problem is that im not getting a refresh to check for any new msg's, the red envelope usally connects to G mail and informs oyu of any new g mails, when I press the red envelope nothing happens...

unload it, clear the widget cache and reload it

clearing the cache info can be found on Corky_O's WinCustomize site - click sites then search for Corky. He has lots of articles/tutorials that are beneficial.

Since we know it's not your firewall, download this widget and use it to see if you can connect. GMail is a preset server. Just select it and fill out your info.Omni Mail 2

If this works, then it's the widget and I would try redownloading the widget. Make sure after you delete the old one you delete the cache folder too.

But you could have given a link to Corky's Clearing the Cache - just in case - I'm at work with no WC access

And your suggestion of deleting and clearing may work better & would have been next after unloading/clearing = you saved a step

I had skimmed your comment and just assumed when you mentioned it it was linked.

JohnnyPants: here's the cache tut... Clearing the Cache

You don't need to delete the whole widget folder, just the gmail checker one.

I just noticed what you were talking about. Yeah, I totally borked that sentence, but we all know what I meant.
