RightClick Skin submission denied after 2 weeks of waitng

No reasons given(Automated)

Wednesday, December 6, 2006 by lsdmeasap | Discussion: RightClick

So finally Today I got emails from stardock denying my skins I submitted 2 weeks ago.
I see that it was automated and I just think it would be better for the mods or whomever does these things to include reasons why they are not accepted so users may correct things!

I read the guidelines then and again when I got the email, and I followed all guidelines yet was not accepted? Very uncool!

I mean it is just a simple rightclick menu. I included permissions for the images used and followed all guidelines otherwise.

Very sad over here! LOL

But it really would have been nice to know exactly why they were not allowed! After waiting 2 weeks to get that I don't suppose I'll take anymore time to post things. I would never know what was wrong with them in the future unless some mod can look into this for me!

Much appreciated

I haven't seen the rejection e-mails because I'm at work. Looking at your submissions I can see immediately why I would reject them - the upload area states files should be uploaded as zip files, you uploaded rar files which are not accepted.

Dear lsdmeasap,

Thank you for your recent upload of your Lsd~Aurora~(various colours) for RightClick
Unfortunately your upload has not met our guidelines and has been rejected for the following reason:

Please upload as zip files only - rar files are not accepted.

However we do look forward to your future submissions.

Sincerely,
The WinCustomize Staff

Email date...1/12/2006....upload date....25/11/2006...probably a bit of the 'Thanksgiving Holiday' lag in there....

Email is clear re the issue, however...

Ohh Well thank you very much for your reply! I clearly overlooked that then in the email and guidelines!

So sorry Will re-Submit! That was the only problem right?

Hope so and thanks for your quick reply!

Wait this is all my emails said, all 4 of them>>>>>>

I get copies of all the emails sent...so at least one of the probable 4 had the issue included.

note it says 'various others'....referring to the name of the skin.

...and yes, it appeared to be the only issue with the uploads....

I do wonder why you found that email though, and it is not one I recieved? That is strange!

Hopefully the new site is coming along good and soon!

Please remember that those who moderate the submission queues on WC are, for the most part, volunteers giving their time to help moderate when they can.

As to file requirements, not everyone will necessarily have WinRAR or something else to open .zip files.  Zips are the most universally recognized archive files, even Windows handles them natively.  It is about being as accessable as possible.
