Updating the biggest suite ever made : Heavy Equipment

common !!!!

Monday, November 27, 2006 by neophil78 | Discussion: OS Customization

Yep everyone, Skinning is (for me, and probably for the much part of you) firstly a question of sharing.

Once upon a time and before (i think ) WinCustomize was created, probably the biggest suite ever made was done, over which, a lot of talented skinners have bring their time and feelings ... i'm talking about HEAVY EQUIPMENT stuff.

Apart that i love this suite, i think it would be a great thing, that to increase this spirit of sharing, once again those who would want to, would be OK to update skins to latest softwares versions.

Here's the "main" element (i mean WindowBlinds) https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=1260&LibID=1 but you can also still find
- Iconpackage https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=637&LibID=2
- One Screenshot https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=653&LibID=13 shawing a great part of the suite
- A version of Suite itself https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=101&LibID=22
- A pack of Wallpapers https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=24&LibID=8
- A Winamp https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=17&LibID=10
And probably founding others software skins by searching better ...

As far as i'm concerned, i should be OK to bring up updates to a fiew apps but not for all, and also not for the coordination of it ...

Anyone to build up this project ?

I think that any skin for any program done under the heading/title of 'Heavy Equipment' needs to have formal consent before it is uploaded anywhere....here OR an alternate skin site.

The last thing the members of the original 'Community Skin' team would want to see is a dilution of their suite through other/new skins that may be less than appropriately matching/suited.

It is also imperative [that means there is NO option] that the text is included which defines the original list and shows the new inclusion/s.

The original 'Community Skin' members would be exempt from this...

Please send any/all new additions to [email protected] for appropriate checking.

This is in part to protect Chad's original graphics and idea, and to continue to promote/maintain the original spirit of 'Community Skin' [it was originally a reg'd nick on several sites where participating authors all had access to upload under that name]...

BTW....Neophil's in #180 suits perfectly...

Of course Jafo, I had assumed that all along. I have no intention of cheapening what Community Skin meant by making sub-standard ports.

Neophil I'm working on some Sysmetrix skins. I'm doing all the text in Sysmetrix, none on the background, so if anyone wants to translate it they can. cough*hint*cough

I have finished one Sysmetrix and gotten permission to use skinhit's icons and don5318's weather images. I'll send it to you later today for the French Translation neophil. Anyone want to translate to any other languages?

I'm about 33% done on the next sysmetrix , 90% done with the skin for Memory , 0% done with the Tetrix theme , 0% done with FoxyTunes , 0% done with Ad-Aware

Oh yeah here's a screenshot, there have been a couple slight changes since this one but I don't have time to upload a new screenie right now. The actual size is 1024x768 photobucket just shrinks it down to 800x600.

TYCUS....what applies here at Wincustomize will also follow at Deviantart.  You'll need to edit the preview, etc in exactly the same way....

The last time I asked about the WB, on this forum, was Dec. 10th 2006. I've built three computers since then. And I noticed Skinhit is on here about 50 times. So I think you should back off. I love the skin, and just don't want to miss it.
