Cannot add fish in Aquarium Desktop 2007
Arrow keys won't work
Monday, November 20, 2006 by mduncan47 | Discussion: Object Desktop
When I try to add a new fish, the arrow keys just move the dialog box around the screen and I can't get to any items other than the Blue Angelfish. I even booted in safe mode and had the same problem.
Anyone experienced this before?
TIA,
Mike

I am sorry you are experiencing problems with Aquarium Desktop. I will pass this on to Technical Support and see if we can get to the bottom of this. They will get back with you shortly.
Thanks,
Jenny

Michael Duncan: Are you clicking on the arrow keys, or are you using your keyboard's arrow keys? Using the arrow keys on the keyboard moves objects around. The "Add fish" dialog unfortunately has not been set up to accept keyboard input.
To everyone with the fish pack problem: Which elements pack are you using? When running the installer for the Aquarium Desktop Elements Pack 1, please be sure you specify the proper directory for Aquarium Desktop. The dialog will default to "C:\Program Files\Stardock\DesktopGadgets", though you will need to open the 'AquariumDesktop' subdirectory if this is in fact where you installed it. (ie don't just "OK" / "Next" through the entire installer
)
You will know everything installs correctly if the following directories:
C:\program files\stardock\DesktopGadgets\AquariumDesktop\Elements
and
C:\program files\stardock\DesktopGadgets\AquariumDesktop\Fishes
contain "Pack 2" and "Pack 3". The "Pack 1" is included with the install of Aquarium Desktop.
Does this help?

If you've already run the installer, you can just copy the 'fish' and 'elements' folders from c:\program files\stardock\desktopgadgets\ to c:\program files\stardock\desktopgadgets\AquariumDesktop2007. The exact name of the directory may reflect your version, if you don't have 2007.
You will then have all of your stuff enabled, AFTER you unload and reload the aquarium desktop application.
The fish are great, thanks!
