Is this a known problem?

My sysytem:
A64 X2 3800+
2 gig RAM
Maxtor DM10 250GB HD
NVIDIA 6800 GT
Asus A8N-E
Windows XP Professional SP1
After I installed Object Dock and set preference that it start when the system starts, at first I experienced slower startup - normally the desktop would be complete and the startup sound would play, but with Object Dock there it would play the sound on the blue screen that precededs the desktop and the take some more time to load to desktop.
Then another day later I ran into the problem that my Windows installation would not load at all, and would freeze on the load screen that says Windows XP and has that blue bar sliding across. If I tried to restart using the restart button, my computer would not see the hard drive. Only a complete shutdown and waiting a couple of seconds before restarting allowed my computer to see the hard drive again. I could only boot in safe mode, which does not load startup items. I finally did system restore to the date before installation of object dock and other components of Object Desktop. Computer started just fine and has since been starting in under 30 seconds, as usual.
One other thing - my main hard drive is broken up into two logical drives, C and D. OS and all other startup items are located on Drive C. Object dock was located on Drive D, could this be the reason why it did not start properly?
I would appreciate any input in this matter because I would like to get to the bottom of this.

OD connections? What's that?
I solved the problem using system restore to pre-stardock state, and it started. Since they installed software piece by piece. All seems to be working so far...

Let's start by eliminating the OD connection and uninstall it. Reboot and see what happens.
