Skin Studio prob with start panel

Thursday, November 2, 2006 by juicymoose | Discussion: Beginners

Hi there!
I've been playing around with Skin Studio and hit a bit of a problem.
My start panel has 3 white lines around 1px wide that i cant remove.

I have tried adjusting the margins which removed a couple of these annoying white lines, but no matter what i do, i cant get rid of the last 3 lines.

If anyone could help me on this i would greatly appreciate it, as i have very little knowledge when it comes to skinning, but i am keen to learn and get it right.

Here is a link to my problem

Try making the width of the image exactly the same as the size setting of the panel in SkinStudio (Programs & Places Lists) & set the Painting Options/Draw Method to "Tile the image." Also be sure that the vertical dimension of both the Places List and Programs List is set the same. See if that helps.

Actually, I goofed in my advice above. The Places List Background is taller than the Programs List Background, by the height of the More Programs Panel Background graphic, so that everything matches up at the bottom. For instance, if the Programs List graphic is 300px tall and the More Programs Panel Background graphic is 20px tall, the Places List Background should be set to 320px tall. You may have to make 1px adjustments to one or more of the panels to get the jigsaw pieces to fit, but they will eventually fit.

One other thing - the overall width of the Start Panel must equal the sum of the two individual panel widths; that might account for the single pixel line on the right.

Thanks very much for your advice Daiwa, I have tried everything you have suggested, and i am a little bit closer than i was before. Hopefully i'm on my way to success
I'm guessing these things aren't meant to be easy! lol!

Edit:
Sometime later ...... Success, i fixed the pesky little rotter and it works flawlessly..
Thanks again Daiwa,
