Good Morning!
I just wanted to remind everyone that today (Sunday) is the last day to vote for Most Original Icons. This year, the icons have been absolutely fantastic and I've heard from tons of people that it's been almost impossible to vote for their favorites with how many good ones there are to pick from. The top-10 we pass along to the judges tomorrow are going to be even HARDER to judge I'm betting.
With the end of the Icons events, we move on to the third and final major competition of the GUI Champs '06; WindowBlinds!
As of this writing we have 31 entries in the library ready for you to pick from (and I bet at least a handful more will be submitted over the course of the day) and there are some great skins in there to grab. Like the icons, there are a few I've taken to using on my work and home PC, I think they're so good 
Voting for Most Usable WindowBlinds kicks off tomorrow, with Most Original starting on Thursday.

just a reminder to every IP artists, even though the most usable IP n most original IP are officially over, the best IP voting is yet to take place....
so...for those of u, who are still working ur IP set, or planning to start one, dont be disappointed or forgo ur plan...
pls keep "flooding" the competition with ur products, let's make this a HISTORIC IP competition..
the voters had some really hard times making decision for the last 2 IP events....
allow me to speak on behalf of theirs, i guarantee they dont mind to have even harder times making decision for best IP

"Best _____" Events are going to be handled a little differently than the events done so far. Just a heads up on that. Expect some news later this week with details.

Usable WB voting is 12:01am Eastern Time 10/16 to 11:59pm Eastern Time 10/18. That's three full days to vote, also to get your entry in.
Original WB voting starts 12:01am Eastern Time 10/19 and runs until 11:59pm Sunday the 22nd.

Alright, can i release an RC1 as Gabriel did, as its ALMOST finished, before tonigts deadline, then update it n a day or two?

I dont see why not...you can update anytime. The more complete it is the better the initial response will be.
I uploaded mine as a single style and then added a substyle...nobody commented on the change so I would make it as finished as possible on the first upload.

You can submit after voting begins. However, you reduce your potential votes the longer past the deadline you go, just because a certain number of people will vote as soon as the poll goes up. The longer you wait, the more you potentially lose out on.
As to unfinished works. It has to be mostly complete at this point to be submitted. G-Pod may just be a first RC, but I'm running it now and unless he's calling it RC because he may be planning on adding substyles or whatever, it looks like a finished skin. I am giving a cursory check to all WindowBlinds and Icon sets to make sure they're complete. I've rejected several entries because they were obviously not finished. The long and short of it is, if it looks unfinished, at this point, it probably will be kicked back until more work is done, if it looks finished and you just plan on adding more awesomeness to the skin in the next few days, then go for it and submit.

No, it very close to being finished as far as being useable, Basically i have to do special folder images, Toolbar icons and Logoff dialogues. Otherwise its very complete. Ill be uploading it shortly.
Thanks for you help Zoomba and for staying on top of things, When i initially read the Timetable i was confused by the wording i think and i planned on having till midnight tommorrow.
ANyway , ill submitt and add awesomness tommorrowe, i already havent slept in three days. LOL

Thanks for the fast response! As I said in my email message, I cleared up those bugs and now it's ready to use 
If I edit my current entry, do I have to upload the visual style and preview image again? and does the update need to be approved?

How in the world is anyone supposed to limit their pick of Usable WB and Original WB to just three(3) each category. I'm scribbling down titles under each category and adding/changing/scratching out/re-entering...Holy ____!! What a feast! Let's see, I've still got a day yet to vote...better sleep on it, vote tomorrow. Midnite, 18th, right? Still time... [muttering, cone-shaped bloodshot eyeballs, pencil-blackened fingers, can't decide...]

Can you clarify that as i am going to need every last minute i can to finish my entry.
Also can u give some clarification to toolbar icons, I have noticed a few entries using toolbar icons that are obviously just mods from earlier themes. Now Im not complaining but a full toolbar set takes quite a while to make, i may miss the deadline because of it. Can i use the same shapes as an existing toolbar set but modify the effect\color? As some people obviously have..or not?
I ask with all due respect to other authors, i just want the playing field to be level.
