background image

Thursday, September 14, 2006 by vancreef | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

i was wondering if it was possible to customize a folder and have a background image or wallpaper just like you can on your desktop. dont get this confused with customizing the thumbnail or icon for the folder as many have. i want an image when i open the folder. my docs, my pics etc etc all to have wallpaper when opened. is this possible? can it be done by changing a setting or installing a theme?

This might be what your looking for WindowPaperXp

If it is...it works best with a seemless background. Otherwise it tiles whatever your using.
Erk.

If the program WebGizmos suggested turns out to be unsuitable to your needs, just remember to set the background back to the default windows one BEFORE you uninstall it, or you get stuck with the last one you applied with WindowPaperXP.

It is a pretty good program though, I've previously used it, and it does exactly what you describe.

just one more question though. what is the best size of picture to use as it seems to be hit and miss as to whether the pic is displayed correctly. and how do i get rid of the white squares around my icons?
