A Note on Submissions & Moderation

We've been accepting submissions for roughly 2 days now, and some of you have begun emailing me or chatting with me on IRC asking why your submission isn't on the website yet. Was there an error? Did the submission not meet the rules and was rejected? I just want to reassure everyone that if you have not received an email saying your submission was rejected (with a provided reason), then it is still in the submission queue awaiting moderation.
The reason there is the lag time between submitting and an entry being approved is that we have to verify that entries meet the requirements. So each and every submission needs to be checked for proper file formats, to make sure that wallpapers have the right resolutions included, that WindowBlinds and Icons actually load and run properly etc. This takes a fairly significant amount of time and submissions tend to pile up as we work through the queue.
We ask that you be patient as you submit your work. We will get to it, it just may not be immediate.

It can take up to 5 days.
There IS a certain level of moderation to make sure it's remotely (emphasis on remotely) competitive.

hello zoomba... on several occasions i have noticed my skins page displays my gui stats and then disappears, yet i have not seen gui stats on any other members pages. Am i the guinea pig? If so thats cool...just curious if it disappears b/c you guys are working out the bugs and will there be any consistency to those stats being there? i just would like to know what my GUI submissions are doing...also,thanks for all that your doing during this time, i'm sure your plate is quite full! your doing a great job!!!!

as of last night some time, my skins page now displays "service unavailable".so as soon as that returns i will send him a screenshot.thanks for your help!

WC personal pages are showing "service not available"...however, like skinhit my personal page is showing gui stats on the Stats tab

any chance of getting a look at our skins awaiting moderation, same as we currently have at wincustomize.com? That way we can see what we've submitted, what has been approved and what is still awaiting moderation? Maybe I'm blind but I don't see that feature on this guichamp website yet and it would probably help with people wondering if their submissions have been uploaded properly and what their status is: waiting moderation, approved, rejected, etc.

im starting to get a little bit concerned here (ok alot concerned) i submitted an icon pack 7 days ago and recieved no response to an email that i sent. Is everything okay??? Or has it been put on hold due to the wallpaper deadline? i have an update to the pack also. any info would be GREATLY appreciated...

You will either get an accepted or rejected email when a submission has cleared moderation. Right now, wallpapers are taking the focus of moderation since the first event kicks off tomorrow. By the end of the week we'll be shifting our focus to Icons, and then to WindowBlinds. Everything that is submitted and passes muster prior to an event closing WILL be posted in time.
If you've gotten nothing so far (and assuming your spam filter didn't catch it) then it's still in moderation waiting for me or another moderator to get to it. We're working through submissions as quickly as possible.

It will likely be mid-day (Eastern Time) when we put up the voting page. Keep in mind that you can submit after voting begins since the lists are dynamically generated, you just lose out on potential votes the longer past the start time you submit.
