How many times do you have to submit an object before things actually work?

Wednesday, September 6, 2006 by SirSmiley | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

At this moment I'm not really impressed with the submission process...actually it's not the process persay.  On Sunday/Monday I submitted a DX Object. Which showed under my skins as awaiting moderation. On Tuesday it was gone. So, I submitted it again and it showed under my skins as awaiting moderation. So, I come on today to check the status of it and it is gone again. Is this like a corporate thing where everything must be submitted in triplicate? It's a little frustrating. In an effort to maintain my sanity I'm asking for any help or a straight jacket.

Check your junk/spam mail. Did you get a rejection notice? Otherwise, I'd guess it was a glitch in the matrix.

No glitch... it's there in the moderation queue. There's nothing wrong with the upload process, it worked...

Thanks guys. It's strange that it doesn't show under my skins though. Unless be default the system moves it? Oh, well.

I have been having the same problem for over a month but only when submitting to the desktop X gallery. At first I took this all personel because when I would reupload it under another name the original upload would reappear and had been downloaded by a mod but was never posted or rejected. This went on for over 20 days. Eventually I just deleted the submission, honestly this is the reason I did not renew my subscription to win customize. I guess what I need to know is..... am I wasting my time building standalone programs with DXPRO 3.0 and submiting them to this web site to share with the community. If I had known this was going to be a problem I would have never bought DXPRO 3.0, I would have bought the googles program to build gadgets. I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem, looks to me like there is a glitch. I guess what I am asking here is a reasonable explanation to why uploads behave like this is the DX gallery but not in the other galleries that I have submitted to.

SIXX Clicks his heals….And says…..JAFO JAFO JAFO……and waits for the sun to rise down under. Then and only then can a real answer to this question come.

I've submitted my Icon zip for Objectdock a month ago and it's totally gone. I've resubmitted it (in the misc. icon area) and it's gone too... if it's being reviewed cool... but it is a bit confusing when it disappears from your skin library. Is it being processed?

DJ Life ... your submission to the ObjectDock library was rejected. I sent you an email, telling you not to include wallpapers in any OD submissions.
Your submissions to the Misc Icon library is in the queue.

Your submission to Misc Icons are all png files. Only ICO files are accepted in that library. Before you submit them to the OD library, you need to resize them.
256x256 is as large as they need to be. OD can only render icons at 192x192.
438x438 is an odd size in any case.

I uploaded a desktopx theme (Blue Futura) and it appears to be approved yet, it doesn't show anywhere. The "display" menu on my "My Skins" page says I have two DesktopX themes but, only one shows? Do I need to resubmit it?

It's listed as 'exiled'...so you 'should' have an email re its rejection...

exiled sounds more like 'ejected' than 'rejected'

ok...not sure what exiled means but, I never got an email not even in the junk folder. I think I know what it may be in regards to though. I'll remove the widget (even though i gave credit) and resubmit.
