Docks

Wednesday, August 30, 2006 by Wayniac | Discussion: Beginners

Stll trying to download docks . Previous instructions were programs>Stardock>objectdock>backgrounds, but there is no such thing as backgrounds on my Objectdock. Where do I find it? When I look under "Programs", Stardock only show Stardock Central. Objectdock shows Homepage, Plus, Read Me and Wincustomize. When I actually click on the Objectdock icon it appears with edit this dock. etc. but nowhere do I see anything about backgrounds. Totally stumped here...???

What directory is Objectdock.exe in? Start | Search | objectdock.exe | OK
There should be a subdirectory at that same spot called Backgrounds.
That's the spot.
Erk.

Assuming your main drive letter is C: ....

Go to:

C:/Program files/Stardock/ObjectDock/Backgrounds ...and put your downloaded backgrounds in there.

...It's not done thru the StartMenu ...which is [I think] what you're describing here.

I once had installed ObjectDock to just C:\Program Files, not C:\Program Files>Stardock. Then when I installed the paid version, ObjectDock +, it resided in the Stardock folder. So I had the first one behaving much like you describe, and confusion, 'til I deleted the free version in Program Files and only used the one in the Stardock folder. This may or may not help, but I also had no backgrounds visible 'til I cleaned house. Now it rocks!
