How much longer before OS X support is enabled?

I retract my statement, as I stand corrected.
My perception of MP not being a well supported product stems from the fact that there are features that are either not working well or are not implemented which have annoyed me, such as extended mouse behavior, like the tilt wheel on my Microsoft mouse. Sometimes the third/fourth buttons don't work. Part of the problem is people's perception. The software industry seems to release a new major version with plenty of new features every year and relative to this perception, Multiplicity seems rather stagnant.
I would love drag and drop copying of files. The cut/paste is nice when it works (which is most of the time, but the times it doesn't...it's frustrating). I've had copy/paste issues with files as well as the clipboard (moreso the clipboard). If I copy files (Ctrl-C) on one machine, then cross to the second machine, but never paste, I have to wait while the files get copied to the second machine's temp folder.
And since you asked, it would be great if you could drag windows across to other machines. I know that is getting away from its primary purpose, but when you get so used to accessing multiple machines across multiple monitors, it would be an extremely handy feature.
But, my biggest issue is connectivity. I posted on this in a different thread, and don't want to go into it in this thread since it's really off topic. But, the only solution provided was to try the latest beta (and it helped, but hasn't solved the issue). One feature I would really like is to let me choose which network adapter (or subnet) the server and client uses. I run Hamachi on all of my machines and MP has a hard time figuring out how to connect (and it usually ends up that they don't connect). MP always seems to bind to the Hamachi connection and there's no way to change that. I end up having to turn off MP on my client to get a pretty stable connection.
I am hopeful development time can be found in the next couple of months for this.

Thank you for the prompt response. I love MP and it is an essential tool that I rely on on a daily basis both at home and at work. For the most part, it works very well, but that is a double edged sword, because the times that it doesn't can really be extra frustrating. I can't imagine computing without it. I just wish it had the user base like WindowBlinds so that development on MP will get the priority it deserves. How many major versions has WindowBlinds gone through since Multiplicity was released?

We have added new features to MP since 1.0 and in particular the recent MP 1.21

What happens when I try to drag a window that's not supported on the other PC (I don't have Excel installed)? What happens when OSX and Linux support is there and they don't support the notepad I just tried to move?
I don't see the disconnections you are seeing or the copy/paste issues. From my point of view MP doesn't need regular updates because it does what it does so well. When I do lose a connection, the new dialog is awesome. And the reconnection is so much faster (the connection on the secondary when it boots is SOOO much faster. I used to use the laptop keyboard to login because MP took too long).
I have a PPC Mac too. I think, like XP, that there is a larger existing market there than with Intel Macs. (We are the ones that bought MP BEFORE there were Intel Macs
)

I know I'm taking this portion out of all the others but I have to say that this function would piss the hell out of me.I have Excel open on PC1. I drag it to PC2. Agreed . . I use IP address for this and it works most of the time. It's be great to be able to pick an adapter on a PC instead.I don't see the disconnections you are seeing or the copy/paste issues. Think more like X Windows or other utilities which simply tell PC2 to draw what would have been drawn on PC1. So, the app is always running on PC1, but you just see it on PC2. A year or 2 ago, I tried a program that did this for me, but it didn't play well with MP, which is why I'd love if MP could do it as well.

I bought MP when it was first released and have therefore been waiting a long time for the Mac version. IMO, the Mac version will NOT happen. It's vaporware! Forget it!

Ron Polak: The OSX secondary support will come in the future, but testing it takes time and it is much lower priority than features which benefit all our customers.
A number of people have been testing the OSX version of MP for some time but we need to resolve a problem with the intel macs before we can release a public beta. If you have a PPC based mac then please contact [email protected] about possibility joining the beta test team.

The developer himself just took time out to inform your whining post of the current situation. Your response is to taunt and mock? That is amazingly rude.
You also posted for an opensource, badly developed software pack as an argument. Also what features are being advertised? It says coming soon. As in Mac support isn't there yet. Argue Synergy all you want. I have used it in a few places and it is crap. Here I tell Stardock that Multi had an issue with a few of my programs and in the next patch it works.
Regardless what the commercials say 7% of the pop of the States use a Mac. 13% of the industry does and more than 40% of education institutions have Macs (because Apple gave them to them).

My iMac G4 and I are eagerly awaiting this, since Synergy goes down and has more issues than I would like.
I don't have any plans to buy this software until the OS X version is released. (I would love to beta test since my iMac is PPC)

Your "stats" mean nothing. This product is designed specifically to target users with multiple machines. THAT'S the market - not the whole goddam country! And of that market a high percentage WOULD have multiple OSes. Stardock know this because they stated that an OS X client is in development from the get go?
And now for some facts:

I empathize with Neil since he does multiple projects at the same time. I did not enjoy him getting ragged on. I am certain SD won't let us down. I have a Mac myself and I look forward to the update.

I would never have bought software on what was going to be included. Crazy talk.
And if I did, but was unhappy about the quality of service, I'd contact sales for a refund, not rant in the forums.
I guess it all depends on what you really want to accomplish.

I'd prefer to use a single program and I'd prefer it to be Multiplicity. So the promise of an OS X client was very much an important part of my decision to purchase Multiplicity Pro. Not "crazy talk" as you call it.
I was never interested in a refund because, like you and others here, I was being patient and hopeful and had faith in SD's ability to produce. I own numerous SD products and therefore have first hand knowledge regarding SD's software development prowess. Which is why their failure to deliver on Multiplicity is so strange and, dare I say it, suspicious.
If my "rant" gets the message through to SD that we're not all "happy little vegemites" - an Aussie saying - then I have accomplished what I set out to do.

I don't suppose you could release that beta with PPC support on SDC?
Has there been considered Linux support? (I guess that isn't that easy as there's so many distros, but support for some/one of the larger ones? Ubuntu?)
Linux and Mac support would truly make MP complete. And I'd be more than happy to settle for just mouse and keyboard control. Clipboard sharing is a plus, but no must in my book.
