Rolldown @ rollup
Friday, August 25, 2006 by Automan | Discussion: DesktopX
Hi folks;
I need some help on creatinng an image that will rolldow and rollup witha 3 stage button controlling the images.
I am into serious weather and I now use Frontpage to show the rolldown "on page enter"
and then use several images to romit up. Now i can setup a DesktopX browser control for the radar gif to show. But the cover images I have.
I just can't with photoshop get the image right so it will rolldown and then roll up.
The is a very cool objsct with animated weather radar and a pointer to my home.

I have made the rolldown and its capable of rolling up. Image was large 50 image pieces.
I have in FrontPage a web site with the same image as the rolldown and I want the rolldown to roll firstand the show the page, then have the page by button Off click fade and the first roll up.
Make sense?
Thanks

Go to your account. If you are logged in there should be a tab at the very top of this
page that says 'My Account'.
Next, when your personal info comes up click on the tab that says 'Update images'.
Under 'personal icon' you can browse for the picture file on your computer. When you're
done click on the 'update images' button at the bottom of the page.
If I have your roll down/up concept correct:
1. You want it to rolldown
2. Then the page to appear.
3. When you click a button the page fades away
4. and then it rolls up.
For this, I think RomanDA's tutorial (with a little moderation) is what you need. It's the 2nd link I gave earlier.
Although I'm not sure how to merge DesktopX with Frontpage (as I don't know much about web design), the tutorial explains how to make an object scroll open/closed or in your case roll down and up. In his tutorial he deals with object width, but for your object you would be dealing with object height. He had an object that used mouse click instead of mouse over/mouse away. I'm not sure where it is now.
Based on RomanDA's tutorials I made a test object. Is this close to what you wanted to achieve?

If so, let me know if you need clarification on how it works and I'll try to get back to you.
Hope this helps.
