The easieat way is....when you start a "New Image", enable the "Transparent" option for the background. WHen you're ready to save the image, use the FIle > Export > PNG Optimizer. On the Transparency tab, select "Alpha channel transparency" & "Existing image or layer transparency"

Does that help?

Koasati,

if I choose transparency from the very begining I still have white background!
If I take png as suggested by you I still do not have transparency!

Thanky you

If getting white background even with transparent checked on New Image dialog, I would suggest that something has gone wrong with PSP X. Try an uninstall/reinstall.

My 2 cents...

Under File --> Preferences, go to File Format Preferences.
On the PNG tab, check Load and save transparency to / from layer transparency.
