help icons under widgets or objects

Hello guys
New to desktopx and have been reading the forums for help which I have found to have good advice. I just have 1 question I require help with.
Is there a way to stop icons or files from ending up under your objects or widgets?
What I mean is if I have a widget in the top R/H corner of the screen and I download something from the net to the desktop eg a pdf file it ends up under the widget and I have to drag the widget away to get to the file I downloaded.
I have tried setting the Z-order to "desktop" but still the same result.
I would like to setup an area of the desktop as a "no go" zone that nothing can get placed there or appear there like, downloaded files etc.
I hope you understand what I mean.
I tried the searching for "icon under widget" etc but nothing is coming up in the search.

There are a few freeware apps Desktop Corral (Donation Coder?) and Hawkeye Shell Init (http://www.hawkeyetech.com) but, they function like toolbars. That said with Hawkeye you can easily set up a widget to start then destroy this area on an as needed basis.

Or if you're running DesktopX at same time, you can also limit the work area (Amount of space filled by a MAXIMIZED window). Here's how;
1. Go into DesktopX Builder Configuration, (Double-Click the Icon in th System Tray)
2. Click the "Desktop" Tab
3. Click the "Workarea" button
Voila I'm sure you can figure the rest out from there..

Many of us would like that, but there's no easy answer as far as I know....
Top right corner? That would mean your desktop is full of icons, otherwise the new file would appear in the top left corner. That's the problem I had, and what I have done is this...
I created a new folder on the desktop, and named it "..". I created a blank icon (an icon with no image), and set that as the folder icon. I then positioned the icon in the top left corner of the desktop. Nothing is visible except the tiny .., which is near imperceptible, and new files will appear beneath that position.
It solved my problem, and may work for you.
