You want to move the icons on a dock...just click and hold the icon, then move the icon to where you want on the dock. Be careful not to drag the icon of the dock. If this happens you'll have to make another shortcut.
I hope this is what you were referring to.

I see the honorifics are now showing who is who...wonder if your suggestion on the background images will be implemented.

If by Windows List, you mean "Running Tasks". Open the Dock Properties dialog > Dock Contents > Tray or Taskbar Position > set this to LEFT.
This may not be an option in the free version..... I dunno.

I have the paid version, I know how to drag stuff around but what I want is a genuine Mac-like setup, where links to applications go on the left, then you've got a divider, then a link to your home folder or Documents (My Documents), then all your "minimized" windows (though I know in OD it shows regardless of whether they are truly minimized), and then at the very end you have a trash.
I cannot figure out how to have custom content on either side of the running tasks; it only says right or left.

I'm afraid the current version of ObjectDock Plus only allows for left/right side for running tasks.

If it's plus (the paid version) I can't help you.
