Frontpage prompts for installation on PDF loading! Help
Monday, July 24, 2006 by LasHobbit | Discussion: Windows XP
Been here a while, and haven't posted yet, so here goes. I have a version of Microsoft Office 2003 that fell out of heaven into my lap
, didn't cost me anything. Use it for Frontpage and occasionaly Outlook. The other day I was playing around, making my system more stable by getting rid of unneccessary processes, and I do not know which one I screwed up but, here is my problem!
Everytime I open a PDF, locally or on the net, I get a prompt from MS Office to install Frontpage again. I cancel, and it just comes right back. Sometimes it comes back multiple times. I cancel till it goes away, and Adobe Acrobat starts up and displays the PDF in the Internet Explorer browser no problem.
BUT, if I close Adaboe Acrobat down, I get the same crap over and over. When I leave it running, thsu sucking up resources, it does not prompt me to install Frontpage.
Wierd, huh? Is there a service App that is causing this, or is it my fault for using this "found" version of MS Office.
THanks
