Problem with line breaks when editing in Advanced Mode

Thursday, July 20, 2006 by liquidguru | Discussion: WinCustomize Site Issues

it seems that if you edit a post in Advanced Mode, when you hit the submit button, the post will be displayed without any of the line breaks. i've noticed that when you go into advanced mode to edit, the default mode in Options is Pure HTML. i change the mode to plain text, but it doesn't take in the final posted edited reply. i will make two posts after this, both exactly the same, both with line breaks. the first one will not be edited. the second one i will edit after posting it..

ok, the line breaks have been lost in my original post above, and i haven't edited it at all.

there should be a line break above this line

there should be a line break above this line

there should be a line break above this line

this post was created in the 'simple' editing mode and not edited

so i had recreated post #1 as post #2

i then, after it had posted correctly, pressed edit

on the edit screen i hightlighted the bottom line -this post was created etc- and changed it to the last sentence in the above post, and all the line breaks have gone

andrew, i hope this helps

For the record, posting from SDC for the last few builds doesn't honour the 'return' key when pressed. So no line breaks either (therefor: on-topic )

I'm entering line breaks using Ctrl+M...

SDC 2.36.417 build 134

We're working on getting the SDC browser pointed at the new forum codebase. When that happens, the issues you're having with the line breaks will be resolved. I can't say for sure when we'll make this transition, but we are aiming for mid-week this week.
