Everyone at Joe User is just so happy and fun! You have to have a sense of humor with a name like Joe User!
I was considering starting a blogsite dedicated to the discussion of marriage. I was going to call it Harry Crabs. My wife balked, so I digress.
There is really no virtual community to compare to the honest, open perspective that Joe User has. There should be more like it. This world would be a much richer, more diverse place.
I, as soooooooo many others are just grateful to be blessed by the absolute intelligence that this community offers.
Thank you so much. And to do it all for free?! Wow!

Can't manage it all in one hit? Well I'm quite happy to take it in weekly/fortnighly installments....say, how about a weekly conspiracy thread that provides as much amusement as this one has. Deal?

Yeah, I can see it now: job offers to co-write and produce sci,fi/espionage stories from influential people in high places who've been monitoring my activities here; the CIA/MI5 offering me a high salary and free reign to extract information from double agents, etc, by means of imaginative technology and devious means.

WinCustomize and the other Stardock sites are not related to JoeUser. Nothing in the purchase of any Stardock Products or services gives any implied or real right to use JoeUser. Brad Wardell is not Stardock....Stardock is Stardock. To read that somebody thinks that he would personally block them because of their political leanings gave me a huge chuckle. LOL Funny stuff.

Maybe, and just maybe, I can manipulate, reverse engineer one of the thingemejigs (Brad uses to keep tabs on peoples political allegiances) to extract the cash from Stardock coffers instead....given the possibility that one of their gadgets intercepted the cash from you to me. Can't promise anything cos they're mainly designed to snaffle JU subs from people who don't meet the political criteria.

I'm so sorry I wasted everyones time and effort. I was clearly way off base here. My old computer, my new computer, my friend's computers and the local library computers were mucked up somehow. It has since resolved itself proving what a moron I really am. I'm not really sure what happened. I guess they just fix themselves now days.
You all have further shown how much "classier" you are than myself. I wish I had such strong character traits but, alas, I do not. You have refused to lower yourselves to the level you claim I'm at and that is admirable.
I guess it was common knowledge. Everyone knows that the joeuser/stardock e-mail was little more than a ploy to make idiots, (like myself), send requests asking for assistance. There never really was any "monitoring" of it......I apologize. I missed the memo.
The fact that I had been bringing this issue up for over 2 months before my "rant" is irrelevant. I understand this now. I also understand that it makes perfect sense for others to get blogs when I could not. It was just timing, computer problems and upgrades. My medications tend to make me forget what year it is so you'll have to forgive me for not thinking clearly.
So, when all else fails, and you've tried every other avenue, just shut-up. Customer assistance is just a phrase used to attract fleas. I know this to be true for both Joe User and Stardock. A quick glance through the forums will show how futile it is to try at all. I get it now. You can benefit from my mistakes.
I have never been proven so totally wrong in my life. I'm ashamed. I have put my tin-foil hat in with the other recyclables. I'm going to have them prescribe me some new medicine. I've been imagining all of this for months. Go figure.
I actually considered using my new found blog access, for a nano second. But I realized that I am among intellectuals, prophet's and scholars. The world is your Oyster and you have it all figured out. I could do little more than post questions hoping to recieve some of the crumbs of your supreme knowledge. That would, of course, continue to irritate you. You would most certainly put me in my place. Just like so many other times and, so many others.
I will pass.

TheGuyPC, I understand why you are frustrated. That old cliche: Sh*t happens isn't a cliche for nothing. Sometimes it just does. I've been around here for a loooong time and I promise you nobody has done these things to you on purpose. They were not intentional.
I've seen folks pounce on people here before and just get nasty. It happens. Try not to take it personally. Some folks can't express themselves politely. They usually don't last long around here.
My point? Just give it a couple of days. You've got your blog space. Sleep on it. Forget about what happened here. In a couple day, nobody will care anymore and you can blog away.

Was I right from the outset... #11, June 30....ie..."you were simply doing 'it' wrong"?
If so, you 'really' should think more about 'contrition' rather than 'sarcasm'.
There is one common denominator in all those computers you personally tried...that failed to create a blog. Perhaps therein lies the problem....

Truth is, I saw the conspiracy bandwagon rolling by and just hopped on for the ride ....though now I'm beginning to wonder if there's any truth to it, given Brad's 'deafening' silence on the matter.
Seriously, though, have fun with your blog and don't stress/panic about not being intellectual enough....what is uninteresting to some is interesting to others, so go for it.

Did my friends channel my idiocy and do what I did? Did my "cookies" somehow mysteriously transfer themselves to several other computers?
You insult me. Skinning, and things concerning it, I know squat. But don't pretend to tell me this was my fault. My computer(s) did exactly the same thing time and again. I get pissy and it's fixed. So, read what you want into it. But you are telling others, who have had the same problem, the same thing. You insult them, as well as me. Just because they don't want to be subjected to this shit, doesn't mean they aren't watching.
As for me, check it out for yourself. Link This is what I've been doing. Take a look at the top 10 most popular. Hummm, imagine that! The mental case that can't even manage to get a blog on Joe User is in the top 10? No! Top 5?
Then, check out my blog. Look at the tutorials that I offer to people who want to customize their blog. Go ahead and see how many "conspiracy theory" posts you can find. Maybe make a post or, even several. Ask people what they think of me. Hell, post in my blog. Shit all over me. I don't delete criticism. Life is a journey and I'm the fool on the hill in a hand built coaster.

The fact remains......I was unable to get a blog and, others were too. You couldn't re-create it. So apparently I am such an idiot that it outweighs your self-proclaimed intellect.
I will equate all of this with dog shit. I stepped in it and, you were all there, all too ready to point out how it was my fault. Even though it was your dog.
The title of my post was "Joe User is Joke User". A re-read of this article would support this claim. If no other, the last page (at least), was little more then a back slapping, bar whore chorus of self congratulation, obscenity, slander and arrogance. (I know who isn't included in this. Thank you)(I'm not going to mention you by name for obvious reasons)

One of the main things you need when you blog, and respond is a sense of humour.
I guess guypc you have two options, you can carry this little chip around on your shoulder, and not forget about it, or you can forget about it, be grateful your problem is solved and get on with it.
