Everyone at Joe User is just so happy and fun! You have to have a sense of humor with a name like Joe User!
I was considering starting a blogsite dedicated to the discussion of marriage. I was going to call it Harry Crabs. My wife balked, so I digress.
There is really no virtual community to compare to the honest, open perspective that Joe User has. There should be more like it. This world would be a much richer, more diverse place.
I, as soooooooo many others are just grateful to be blessed by the absolute intelligence that this community offers.

Welcome aboard, TaBoo Tenente, it's nice to see you here....oh, and don't worry about the liberal detector, your tinfoil hat, etc. We of the 'Twisted Sister' fraternity have since been granted diplomatic immunity....tho I see Jafo is still wearing his EMP helmet and headset, sunnies just to be sure.
You've been hanging around with Fuzzy too much again, haven't you! The mind meld and non-assimilable Vulcan physiology, however, will eventually wear off and you'll inevitably find resistance is futile, EMP helmet or not.

Does that mean it is Grog? As Rum Chief I have to inspect all alcohol for crew consumption, but I dont think the crew wants malted ass.

Starting to have doubts about that, Dr Guy...Rum Chief/inspecting all alcohol for crew consumption. It'd be alright if you were sharing it with the crew, but 3 rum stops in a just a week for one man is a bit much. Worse still, how come there's a couple of dozen cases of champagne missing from the officers mess....you partying on and fraternising with them thar wenches again?

And you hafta admit, the guys did have a good time, even though we did lose to of them overboard and have six put up in the infirmary for a week!

You mean those scantily clad women who were chasing me around the deck? Wondered where they came from, how they had so much energy (I got caught).....must've been the guava juice and coconut milk they brought for mixers to go with the rum, eh!
I agree that crew morale must be maintained, but who's gonna hoist the sails, pump the bilge if we keep ending up with so many swabs incapacitated through hangovers, etc? It shouldn't be left to the officers...certainly not the cap'n. Besides, I don't see these South Pacific ladies letting me out of my cabin fer a while yet.
Well of course, gotta keep tabs on things....and just like a visit to the head, the job ain't finished 'til the paperwork's done.

What....an attempt at discrediting a conspiracy theory with some banter, light hearted humour and sheer lunacy....
Who....until you asked we'd forgotten him, but now you mention it...WHO? The silence is deafening....bloke starts off a thread then abandons it after a couple of posts ....bit of a party pooper, dontcha think! And we've been having such a great time too!
Where....why here of course, and anywhere the Twisted Sister will take us. Who knows, with a bit of bad luck we might even sail back to Sanity some day. Heck, it's not a port we frequent too often, but I reckon we'd adjust if by some accident we ended up there.
When....always, of course! Humour should never take a vacation, which is something I have to keep reminding myself of lately....
My wife has been in hospital for a few days and could be there for a while, having had a breakdown over our 16 yo runaway daughter (who is continually going from bad to worse) and a complete lack of co-operation and/or support from the authorities. Just when we thought we'd made some headway towards resolving the issue, it all went guts up. Our lawyer was trying to invoke a law which would have forced Family Services to act in her better interests, but then the damned government practically changed the legislation overnight to avoid having to accept any responsibility to protect her.
Essentially, it was our final hope, so when the news arrived that it had failed, it was more than my wife could cope with and I had to arrange for our GP to visit so he could have her admitted to hospital. It's not the best circumstance but we'll get throught it and move on.

Well....no. I've been busy working on my blog. A blog which "amazingly" I was able to get and, edit....whereas I was unable to here.
Of course this was a "No Win" for me. Had I posted more, you would have critisized me for that.
I've made what? 3-4 posts? You children are up to what? 250+? Clearly nothing is ever going to change around here. That's fine. I don't really care anymore. I do what I do and you all continue to continue be assholes.
I'm very glad I went through this. I really am. Had I not, I would have never met some very good people online. People who I help every day. For free.

My "deafening" silence comes solely from the realization that, for all of the knowledge many of you have, there is no humility. You live off of the sharing of others, but you are unwilling to do so yourselves...unless it suits your mood.
Don't think I haven't been watching, however. I have. And you have been digging a deep grave. Of course you won't see it that way, but I sure have a lot of good luck when it comes to other websites.
Maybe I should invest a buck or two, and look into reality as it pertains to those critical of myself. Nah, you're not worth it.
I would post on Joe User, if I thought anyone would actually engage me in an honest discussion. But that will never happen. It is "Joke User" isn't it? That IS what this thread is...isn't it?

i've spent 47 (and counting) minutes on joeuser over the course of the last andre the giant- sized handful of months. 44 of those minutes went into reading this thread--and each one of those minutes was time (relatively) well spent.
i personally enjoyed the entire thread: the dramatic dips in action, the tightening noose of suspense, and the comic, surprising relief earned from a few well-placed moderator curses.
i love each and every one of you. may whatever inspirational force you believe in have a chemically balanced effect upon the unifying glue of your neural networkings.
