However, when it did work, I found IE 7 to be a nicer version to use, so I'll definitely be giving it another go....just hope it doesn't cause the same BSOD's its predecessor did.

I like the font it uses, so easy to read

Beta 3 has put the email button option (customize toolbar) and has fixed an issue with not being able to view some forums.

Beta 3 is much faster, especially the phishing filter function.
It does have some issues with scripting some sites (parts of Adobe for one), but this may be due to the sites not meeting the IE7 requirements (to be expected with beta releases and timing).
The final release should be a huge improvement over IE6, and tabbed browsing is always a good thing.

1. If you only have 1 tab open you can't close that tab without either opening a new tab, or closing the browser.
2. If I have logged in to WC with firefox, closed my browser without logging out and try to log in to WC with IE7 I get an error.
Opera demonstrates the same behavior in this one.
Other than that, I think IE7 is going to seriously hurt some of the competition.

Any idea what's improved over Beta 2?
Is it worth the effort of removing 2 to install 3?...

what's new in Beta 3
Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 is now available for download and includes improvements in reliability, compatibility, user features, and security. Although Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 was layout complete, based on our customers’ feedback, we’ve made some additional changes to the look and feel of the browser. Beta 3 allows users to add the e-mail button back to the toolbar, enables users to reorder the tabs by dragging them to the left or right, and enables horizontal scrolling while zooming.
To improve the RSS experience, Internet Explorer 7 now allows users to update all their RSS feeds automatically. In addition, the user has more control in marking their RSS feeds as "READ."
Beta 2 testing has helped us improve compatibility with websites and web applications in Beta 3. Internet Explorer 7 reliability has improved in Beta 3 as several layout-rendering bugs have been fixed as well.
In addition, Beta 3 contains all the security fixes addressed in the June Internet Explorer Security Bulletin MS06-021.

No 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' with beta 3....no BSOD's of beta 2....but then, you're a self confessed/professed expert of the BSOD, with or without IE7 beta 2.

Yes, it is much faster (page loads/startup) and more reliable (performance/security) than its predecessors (providing you don't BSOD with something else)
