I also noticed that a few forum posts are showing up as " new " but old. I though it was just a one time thing but I received an email notification ( today ) for a thread I had on watch list , but when I checked it- it was 5 days old with no new posts.
I know they are redoing things - but I thought i'd mention it in case.

Noticed this error message too.
| Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached. |

Whatever it is you guys a trying to do to "improve" the site...you need to stop doing that and go back to what worked...or hire a professional that can fix the problems. I used to really enjoy coming here...but I'm finding myself coming here less and less.

Gizmos makes some valid points as well, Whats being done isn't working.
I haven't been getting the errors I used to get prior to the server upgrades but the site is horribly slow quite often and performs very poorly compared to most sites I visit.

Still, it's a big improvement to a couple of months back, when server errors/load errors were more the norm than not. Okay, so it's not 100% yet, but I'm sure the crew are doing their best to resolve the speed issues....and considering the daily traffic Stardock/WC gets, it's a mammoth task that's not likely to have a quick fix.

I've found that a page that is stalling is easier just to completely stop and then immediately try again. That often works. Since I am not paying for a subscription I feel a little guilty complaining about something that I get for free. But I agree with the others that something is wrong here. When I can't open a page at midnight Pacific Standard Time I wonder what the problem is. The rest of the Western Hemisphere is in bed, Europe is still getting up and it is hard to believe that Asia by itself is overloading the servers.Reply #19 Monday, June 19, 2006 6:39 AM
