Please, a response...?

Right-Click Skintool woes.

Monday, June 5, 2006 by Phoon | Discussion: RightClick

I know you folks are busy, but please..
There have been a few threads on this, AND I have emailed tech support to no avail.
Will someone at Stardock please acknowledge the issue and give us an idea of the solution.

Right Click Skintool will not work with the NON beta release of Dot Net 2.0.
In order for it to function, one is required downgrade thier .net 2 to the beta version which is just bad manners altogether.
Please.. it would be nice to have this tool!

Hmm... let's make a bandwagon! The skintool for Objectbar 2 doesn't work. It gives an kernel32 error:
AppName: skintool.exe AppVer: 1.0.1879.30872 AppStamp:421bad81
ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 ModStamp:411096b4

Many windowblind skins conflict with the right click menus. The tool would be very useful to get working.

Have you asked any Stardockians via IRC? It couldn't hurt.

Out of curiosity, were the cases you created with tech support closed? Was there a reason? If it was a while back, let me suggest stardock.helpserve.com. There at least there is a record of their response (or lack of).

I typically get a response within a week. Sometimes it's "I passed it on to the developers." But the case has stayed open and I can track status.

I think that, for a product out of beta, the company has a responsability to respond to problems. It can be argued that the app does not have to support the current .Net framework but it should support the previous and should NEVER requier another BETA product to run.

I think that OB, CC, and RC have the same codebase. I would expect them to succeed or fail together.

Hey guys.

The skin editor was refreshed for .NET v2.0' final release to go along with ObjectBar/RightClick's most recent releases...dont know why it didn't make it out the door with it. I just sent the files over to be published. Our apologies for the delay
